See how a defined requirement becomes a quotation comparison, open-question list and practical next steps. This demonstrates a working method, not a completed engagement.

The agreed requirement
DEMO-QC-001 · Version 1.0 · Fictional Day 0
Product & quantity
1,000 folding paper boxes for non-food-contact outer packaging; one SKU. This product is used only to explain the method, not to claim category expertise.
Specification baseline
Internal dimensions 200 × 150 × 80 mm; 350 gsm white paperboard; one spot-colour print; matte water-based varnish. Artwork DEMO-ART-v1. Colour reference and acceptance tolerances remain to be agreed before sampling.
Commercial basis
USD; EXW at each fictional supplier’s facility in Yiwu, Zhejiang, China, Incoterms® 2020. Show one setup charge, one sample charge and a separate indicative inland move to the same Yiwu consolidation point. Compare with samples and setup included once; no assumed credits.
Timing & decision status
Desired goods-ready date: Day 35. Day 0 means the invented inquiry date; it is not today. Production starts only after written sample approval and the agreed deposit. Destination market: United States; import and product requirements have not been assessed in this demonstration.
Quotation comparison
Fictional quotes QA-v1, QB-v1 and QC-v1, all dated Day 0. All specifications and terms represent simulated supplier statements, not checked facts.

Supplier-specific open question
Confirm board, tolerances, sample timing and inland quotation
Requote 1,000 units, 350 gsm and matte varnish; do not reuse this unit price
Confirm the shorter schedule and sample finish; obtain inland quotation
Subtotal = goods at that supplier’s quoted quantity + one setup + one sample + the inland assumption. A: 780 + 45 + 35 + 60 = 920. B: 1,300 + 0 + 25 + 40 = 1,365 for 2,000 units, not 1,000. C: 820 + 30 + 40 + 70 = 960. Inland amounts are scenario assumptions, not confirmed quotations.
These are not landed costs. International freight, export handling, insurance, duties, taxes, destination charges, testing, inspections and Jinghai Yueheng service fees are excluded. Prices, taxes and responsibilities would need separate confirmation in a real project.
What this comparison tells the buyer
A lower unit price is not a saving yet.
B quotes a different material, finish and order quantity. It cannot be ranked cheapest for the 1,000-unit brief, and multiplying USD 0.65 by 1,000 would invent a quote that does not exist. Ask for a corrected quotation first.
A and C can be compared provisionally.
Their stated specifications and quantities align. A is USD 40 lower in this limited scenario; C states a shorter production lead time. Neither is automatically better: samples, timing, terms and actual transport costs remain unresolved.
No award recommendation yet.
Clarify colour and dimensional acceptance criteria, obtain the revised B quote and agree sample checks. The Day 35 target is not confirmed by supplier lead-time statements alone. Supplier selection and sample, payment and order approvals remain with the buyer.

What an actual assignment would deliver
An approved requirement baseline, supplier identities and original quotes shared within the agreed scope, a comparison with its assumptions, and an open-question / action record. A real deliverable includes actual sources, dates and versions. The details, supplier count, review rounds and fees are agreed for each assignment; this sample is not a promise to supply three qualifying factories or to guarantee savings, quality or delivery.
